The US Department of Energy has identified 8,500 jobs as “unnecessary”-including positions that oversee the nation’s nuclear weapons stocks-as it is preparing to reduce employees in response to the authorization of the government competence team in Elon Musk.
These “unnecessary” roles represent about half of the 17500 administration positions and can be targeted in the demobilization of the next workers, according to a document that Bloomberg News seen. The list includes jobs all over the department, including the National Nuclear Security Administration.
