Noida authority officials were punished for neglecting an elderly couple and were forced to stand for 30 minutes

On December 16, Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M ordered a permanent 30-minute penalty to officials in the residential land department after they neglected an elderly couple who had come to the office for help.

The pair were reportedly left standing for 50 minutes without being attended to. The incident came to light when CCTV footage showed the elderly couple waiting while officials failed to provide service.

After reviewing the CCTV footage and noticing that the elderly couple was standing for another 15-20 minutes without assistance, Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M ordered officials from the residential land department to stand for 30 minutes as punishment.

A video clip of the incident, which was circulated on social media, showed the employees’ compliance with the punishment. While imposing the penalty, the CEO said: “Only when you work standing will you understand the difficulties faced by the elderly.”
