Nintendo launches another strange phone application

Nintendo had an interesting surprise at the end of the day. The Shigeru Miyamoto Game icon has unveiled the Nintendo phone app today.

This is a digital daily calendar that will have information about the future Nintendo events. After direct focus on Nintendo Direct on switch 2, MIYAMOTO notes that the application will provide information on the new control unit daily.

Nintendo loves full control of its products, IP and messages. This is the company that made its music application instead of launching the soundtrack on an existing service like Spotify. With Nintendo today, the company can access consumers directly instead of having to rely on others (including grateful journalists) to publish its messages.

Of course, this is if the application gets traction. Nintendo has released an application on phones that the players wanted to use for the audio chat to switch, and people greatly rejected it. Nintendo already has social media channels and these direct presentations as ways to reach consumers.

Nintendo today is now available on the Apple and Google Play App Store. I will have to check this myself to see if there is any value (or, in hope, fun) to find it.
