Eddie Hao, President of Newcastle, called on his players to use the final Premier League matches to build for their success in the Carabau Cup.
The Magpies team won the first local Cup in 70 years in Wembley before the international break, overcoming Liverpool in Wembley to raise a rare piece of silver tools.
Hundreds of thousands gathered on Tyneside to join the presentation and formation in the celebrations that included local heroes ANT and DEC, as well as Alan Shearer.
But for Hao, attention has returned to the Premier League and Newcastle to secure football in the Champions League.
They face Princeford on Wednesday, a team that lost 4-2 in the early campaign.
At his press conference before the match, the Newcastle coach admitted that the defeat was an incentive for their season and spoke about what he hoped for the final expansion.
He said: “It was a very difficult day. It was an incentive for us in terms of re -assembling and changing the momentum of our season. We went in a really good race after that.
Eddie Hao on the construction of the success of the Carabau Cup:
“The pain of the final loss (in 2023), although it was a great disappointment, we were launched in the Premier League, so we used this pain. How we will respond to success is a different feeling but we need the result to be … pic.twitter.com/wgwzc07srf

“We have performed some comprehensive analyzes of that game. We know that Princeford is a good team and we played them on our way to the Carabau Cup final, and this was another difficult game.
“Thomas (Frank) has really a really good job there. It’s strong in the pieces. Form it very far, and they are free aspects. So it will be very difficult.
“The state of re -considering and considering our goals again was a different way. We need to put what happened against Liverpool to the back of our minds and now focus on the future.
“We enjoyed comfort. We went to the Carabau Cup final, knowing that we have time to accommodate what happened in that game. Fortunately, it was positive.
“But we are now ready to play again. That’s what we are doing. We are still in the middle of the season. It was a long break. But we tried to move in it as much as we can with all the passion about the game that we had. But we focus in the next game.
“We have 10 games and 10 great opportunities to try to convert the Premier League season into an unforgettable match like the Cup final. We look forward to that and I hope that boys will be strengthened and renewed.”
Newcastle sits sixth in the Premier League table, but it is only two points from Chelsea fourth, which Tottenham faces on Thursday.
Win can achieve them on the Champions League sites, where it is expected to be given an additional place in the competition.
