“I’m at a loss for words sometimes. I didn’t expect the show to be as good as it did,” she said. “I also wasn’t expecting another season and for it to be approved so quickly. Obviously I’m very happy and grateful, but it’s very surprising. You never know.”
Ball told PEOPLE that she remembers thinking the show “was going to be okay.”
“I remember thinking: ‘This is going to be good. It has to be good, since we all have a story that people haven’t heard about, and we all have followers,'” she said. “I didn’t know how well it would work, so it was as shocking as it happened.”

Whitney Levitt said filming the show felt like a bit of therapy

For Levitt, who many fans described as the villain of Season 1, she felt that filming the show was “a little bit like therapy” as she was working through some personal issues.
Getting to know the fans while out and about was something the actors had to learn to get used to, and quickly.
“I’m still adjusting because it happened so fast, but I love it when people come up and say hi and ask about the picture,” Levitt told PEOPLE. “I had one child, and a college student asked me to sign his BYU card and it was probably the best thing ever. I was like, ‘Oh yeah, sure. “I will sign your BYU card.”

Paul added: “And then the people in your messages reach out to you, and they’re just unexpected people that you liked, we all liked them. So it was really nice to see them. And sometimes I forget that people are there. Watching it is a national thing to this day. I still don’t I think I realize that, to be honest.
While Paul and Levitt said they were surprised by how quickly the show became popular; They are excited and ready for what is to come in Season 2.

“I don’t think any of us thought it would be this big and it will continue to be this big,” Leavitt said. “It was something we all wanted to do and we’re so grateful for how big it has already gotten and how much bigger I knew it was going to get from here. That was the biggest surprise to me, a thousand percent.”
Levitt shared that Season 2 will contain a lot of conversations and confessions. She even called it all “therapeutic.”
