Fans at Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Mississippi got a big surprise when the actor… Morgan Freeman Join Al Green on stage during his New Year’s Eve performance.
Freeman and Green sang a duet of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s 1971 classic “Let’s Stay Together,” and the Crown joined in on the fun.
Morgan Freeman is said to be the co-owner of the Blues club.

Ground Zero Blues Club’s Instagram account shared a video of an Al Green-Morgan Freeman performance on December 31 with the caption “Morgan Freeman & Al Green LADIES and GENTLEMEN!”
The video showed Freeman wearing a cream turtleneck with a dark double-breasted jacket on stage singing “Let’s Stay Together” with the legendary Green, who wore a green jacket with black lapels along with a white button-up shirt.
Green asked the audience to join in as he and Freeman sang, “I am | I love you so much | Whatever you want to do | It’s okay with me | Because you make me feel so new | And I want to spend my life with you.”

Freeman sang a solo for the second verse. “Let me say that since then, baby | Since we’ve been together | Oh, love you forever | is what I need,” the 87-year-old movie star even chimed in, prompting a quick nod from Green and applause for the “Million” actor Dollar Baby” before continuing the song.

Freeman also celebrated the New Year’s Eve performance with a social media post.

Fans praised the video in the comments section, wishing the “The Shawshank Redemption” star a Happy New Year in return.

Singing with Al Green was Freeman’s dream
CNN correspondent Omar Jimenez was at the Mississippi juke party during the show, and captured video of the performance from another angel.
Jimenez shared the video with him X Followed with a comment suggesting that singing with Green was a “dream come true” for the Oscar winner.
The post was captioned: “Morgan Freeman took the stage to make his dream come true.” He said he was going to sing with Al Green.”
“This made me happy, two legends enjoying life,” one X user replied. Another user added: “Two legends on stage, I would love to see them.”
One of them pointed out: “He looks like a kid there… Do you see that smile? I would love to see it! I’m happy for him.”
