The United Nations Children says that at least 322 children have been killed since Israel launched a renewed attack in Gaza two weeks ago.

UNICEF said at least 609 other children were injured during the same period.

“I have provided the ceasefire in Gaza, a lifeline, which is needed for the children of Gaza and the hope of obtaining a way to recover,” said Catherine Russell, UNICEF Executive Director, said. “But children have rushed again in a cycle of deadly violence and deprivation.”

Israel launched its renewed attack in Gaza on March 18, and blamed Hamas for rejecting a new American proposal to extend the ceasefire and liberate 59 hostages who are still detained in Gaza.

In turn, Hamas accused Israel of violating the original deal in January.

UNICEF said that “the bombing that is uncomfortable and random” resumed in Gaza, where 100 children were killed or distorted every day in the ten days until March 31.

She said that most of the children who were killed were displaced and were veiled in temporary tents or damaged homes.

UNICEF uses numbers issued by the Hamas Ministry of Health in Gaza – the numbers that have been constantly questioned in Israel. Numbers are seen by the United Nations and other international institutions as reliable.

International journalists, including the British Broadcasting Corporation, are prevented by Israel from entering Gaza independently, so they cannot verify personalities from either side.

The BBC Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) told “committed to relieving civil harm during operational activity” and “respecting all the international legal obligations in force, including the armed conflict law.”

She “is making great efforts to assess and consider potential civil side damage.”

Since the war began more than 18 months ago, UNICEF said 15,000 children were killed, more than 34,000 were wounded, and about a million children have been repeatedly displaced.

The humanitarian situation has exacerbated Gaza in recent weeks, as Israel refused to allow assistance in the Gaza Strip since March 2 – the longest blockage since the war began.

“Without these basic supplies, malnutrition, diseases and other preventive conditions will be possible, which leads to an increase in the deaths of children that can be prevented.”

The United Nations announced that it was underestimating its operations in Gaza on March 24, one day after eight Palestinian paramedics, and six respondents for civil defense and the United Nations employee He was killed by Israeli forces In southern Gaza.

The Israeli Defense Army launched a campaign to destroy Hamas, which was appointed a terrorist group by Israel, the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries, in response to an unprecedented attack across the border on October 7, 2023, where about 1,200 people were killed and 251 were taken.

More than 50399 people were killed in Gaza during the war that followed, according to the Hamas -running Ministry of Health.
