Marvel, the film, was canceled by Robert Downey Junior, before Iron Man

It is easy to forget that the “Iron Man” of John Favrio was considered a bit of risk when it was released in 2008. It was not yet purchased by Disney at that stage, while the attack of the cinematic universe in the end was only a sparkle in Ain Favrio. When he included a veil from Samuel Jackson in the role of Nick Furi, where he presented lines around the Avengers Initiative, Vavio was aimed at more than a wink for the fans. The next year was not the purchase of Disney Marvel and plans to take revenge on the appropriate movement.

Robert Downey Junior starred Tony Stark/Iron Man, and the film proved that it is a blessing for his professional life. The actor spoke frankly about how drugs were used from 1996 to 2001, and it finally reached its rehabilitation in November 2001 after eating a terrible burger (An incident that inspired a notorious moment in “Iron Man”). Downey went on to drop several amazing roles from 2001 to 2008, of course (Please go to see “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”), But there was nothing huge even the “Iron Man”. He went to become one of the most famous stars in the world and won the Academy Award for his performance in the movie “Oppenheimer” after about four years of completing his work period in 2019. (The character died in “Avengers: Endgame”.

Before “Iron Man”, however, the download of another Marvel Comics project was seen. In an interview with 2009 with GizmodoPaul McGuigan – the director of “Lucky Number Slevin” and “Push” (has nothing to do with the man from the oasis) – talked about how he was shooting at Deathlok’s novel. If Mcguigan had made his way, Downey would have played Marvel’s Cyborg.

Ultimately, the direct Deathlok will be photographed by J. August Richards on TV series “Shield Agents” The character appeared for the first time in Marvel Comics in 1974 and gained a new fame in 1990 when he was reinforced with a new origin. The character, in his original repetition, was an American soldier who was killed in the battlefield before being revived in the form of Ciburg by a twisted scientist for several years in the future. It fights the evils of Dystopian Dystopian Corporate America, all with a conversation with a smart computer that shares its brain. In all its repetitions, Deathlok is a black man.

In Gizmodo’s interview, McGuigan admitted that the rumors of “Deathlok” were correct. There has been a Deathlok movie in works since the early 1990s. The project finally moved to Paramount in 2001, with Lee Tamahori Direct attached. When this version fell from the movie, McGoygan took over. (This was around 2004.) The plan was to tend to McGuigan, as screenwriter David Silf ends (“The Haunt”, “Road to Perdition”) from the text program.

Unfortunately, it was not very bad; Mcguigan was really in this concept and loved the “Compater Voice” angle inside the Cyborg head. As it put it:

“I was really about it, but Marvel changed their opinion. (…) somehow, it looked like” Knight Rider “, where you had a machine to talk to him.

Mcguigan went to reveal some of his ideas for the film. The character of the evil scientist was more exotic and zany, as Deathlok was invented as a way to remember it with history. And yes, Mcguigan felt that Downey was great in this role (although white).

This interview was conducted before Deathlok appeared on “SHIELD agents”, so Mcguigan couldn’t comment on it yet.
