New Marvel Rivals heroes and maps

Monday’s new trailer gave us brief glimpses of The Fantastic Four — Invisible Woman, Mister Fantastic, Human Torch and The Thing. It’s a fitting addition to the game, given its premise that two Doctor Dooms from different timelines are vying for control. (It also helps build hype for the new one.) Fantastic Four movie first stepscoming this summer.) Invisible Woman will take on the role of strategist, and Mister Fantastic will be a swordsman. Although he won’t appear until later in the season, The Thing will be at the forefront, as Johnny Storm adds another duelist to the roster.

I had the opportunity to try out the new champions before the season and got two key results. First, Mister Fantastic is officially a swordsman, but his role is very much intertwined with that of Vanguards. His Reflective Rubber ability allows him to store incoming damage and bounce it back to enemies, and his ability to generate excess health makes him more offensively capable than most Duelists. In most matches I played with or against him, he took almost the same amount of damage as the team’s tanks.

Second, Invisible Woman has a lot to keep track of. I enjoyed the high-action-per-minute gameplay, but some players might feel overwhelmed by having to keep track of the limited range of her basic fire, the health of her deployable shields, and the multiple inputs to her push/pull ability and cooldowns. With all her abilities. It has a lot of benefits, but managing those diverse resources effectively is the key to its success.

When enemies overextend, you can use Invisible Woman’s Ultimate to prevent enemy strategists from healing them while also healing your own team within range.

The season will be split into two halves, with Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman added at the beginning of the season, while Thing and Human Torch join in the second half. We’ll be getting a new caravan map, Downtown, where players will accompany the Fanastic Four’s robot ally HERBIE to Avengers Tower. We’re also getting a brand new arcade game mode, Doom Match, which will take place in Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum. A third map, Central Park, will be added midway through the season.

The developers said this is double what they have planned for future seasons, so it’s probably safe to expect a new champion at the start of future seasons and another about six weeks later, with one or two new maps for each season. This means eight new heroes every year, and four to eight new maps. That’s an impressive amount of content for a live service game.

There have been several other leaks for Marvel Rivals recently, including hero models or abilities for characters like Ultron, Emma Frost, and Jean Grey. All of these things haven’t been confirmed yet and won’t appear in Season 1, but they suggest a roadmap for healthy content for the game, and are essential to keeping players engaged throughout the year.

Season 0 included a shortened Battle Pass, and the developers said the Season 1 Pass will have “double the content and excitement” in the latest version. Development vision video. This includes 10 new outfits, designed around this season’s Eternal Night theme.

The Season 1 Battle Pass will cost 990 net (about $10 in in-game currency). You can earn 600 mesh and 600 units (in total, equivalent to about $12 in in-game currency) if you complete the Battle Pass.

Balance changes

The devs have seen your post on Reddit — Hawkeye and Hela are getting nerfs to start Season 1, though the changes seem a bit minor compared to community expectations. Jeff’s final edit is also done. Reinforcements come in the way of Captain America, Cloak and Dagger, Storm, Venom, and Wolverine, among others.

The developers have launched Full patch notes Details of the changes, and the stats on the Rivals website will be updated with the new balance numbers. The Rivals website has also been updated with Pick and win rate statistics You will receive new updates every half season.

Reset rank and speed up the mouse

The development insight video also revealed that player ranks will drop seven divisions – Platinum 1 will start the new season with Silver 2, in their example. By these calculations, anyone with a Gold 2 or less will revert to Bronze 3 to start the season.

Additionally, the game introduces the Celestial Rank, which will have the standard three levels and appear after the Grandmaster rank.

The developers also said that Season 1 will include a much-requested mouse acceleration settings option, meaning no one will have to resort to editing game files if they don’t want this feature.
