Chelsea president Enzo Marisca responded to the claim that his first campaign was disappointment, and insisted that critics ignore the steps taken by his team this season.

The Italian coach spoke after his team’s 2-1 victory over Fulham in Kravin Koch at the end of last week-and as a result, Chelsea pushed moments to the first five places and hopes for the return of the Champions League.

While Nottingham Forest has ranked fifth since fifth place, Marisca is still confident in the direction of the team while Chelsea is preparing for a decisive match against Everton.

“Compared to the past two years, (the season) is not a failure,” said Marisca.

“How many times in the past two years have been Chelsea in the Champions League (places)? And this season we have been there almost throughout the season. It is improved or not? It is indeed improved.”

The history of the modern Chelsea in the era of Maliki Todi Bohli was disturbed, characterized by heavy investment – more than one billion pounds in transportation operations – and repeated changes in both the work and training team.

The club ended the twelfth place in 2023 and climbed to the sixth last season. This campaign was supposed to settle on stability in the project, with a lower uprising and a clearer structure, but the team is currently sitting in the same league position as it was at the end of last year.

Despite the increase in the middle of the season, which saw Chelsea to a short period to second place in December, just two points from the first place, its shape was turned out shortly after. However, Maricca still believes that the largest image shows an improvement.

“Compared to the past two years, it is quite clear that there is improvement,” he added.

“If you want to see it, you see it. If you don’t want to see it, you don’t see it. Depends on this path (look). I see it.

“We have a commitment to bring this club to where it belongs. The results were there. I as a manager, the club, we all have ambitious. I think we are in the right direction and we hope we will be there soon.”

Marcelsa’s relationship with the fan base in Chelsea was strained during the rock correction of the results, and the tensions were clear again after Fulham’s victory.

It is worth noting that he chose not to join the celebrations with the travel supporters after the late Pedro Neto winner.

“I can understand (frustration).

“We are trying to keep them happy. I think the fans are the same (in December) when they were singing that Chelsea returned and showed that they were happy.

“Now because we do not win the same number of games as in the beginning, they show that they are unhappy. In the way we accepted when they were singing that Chelsea has come back, we need to accept it now after they are not happy.”
