(Reuters) – Team members working at Marathon Petroleum’s (NYSE:) Detroit refinery voted to ratify a seven-year collective bargaining agreement, three months after workers left their jobs, the company and union said on Sunday.

“The process of safely welcoming our employees back to the refinery is already underway,” the Findlay, Ohio-based company said.

More than 200 truck drivers at the Marathon refinery in Detroit called for a strike on September 4 after months of negotiations and mediations regarding wages and safety with the refinery without results. Their previous contract expired in January this year.

Marathon representatives and truck drivers have held several negotiating sessions under the supervision of a federal mediator since the workers went on strike.

The 140,000 barrels per day Detroit refinery is one of 13 Marathon refineries with a refining capacity of about 2.9 million barrels per day.
