Lythbridge residents think about the legacy of Pope Francis – Lythbridge

After the emergence of Sunday Easter and a picture of recovery, Pope Francis Monday died at the age of 88.

His heritage has undoubtedly affected billions of dollars worldwide, including Lithberridge and through southern Alberta.

“It was really crazy to see, especially on the weekend. It was really devastating, too, just because he was present for a long time. That’s all I know is growing up.”

Francis, born in the role of Jorge Mario Bergolio, says it will be a difficult inch of follow -up.

“Frankly, I don’t think we will find anyone like him again.”

For some, like more than religion. It was a beacon of hope.

“It was more open, more modern and more (an understanding of young people), and an understanding of (society). I think it was more close to (people),” Sarah Figaro, who descended from Mexico, said.

Finally, she says that the presence of the Pope in South America was huge for those from Latin America.

“I was happy because the first time it was for Argentina,” Vigura said.

This belief participated in Father Santiago Torres, the assistant priest in the diocese of the Catholic saints in Lithperbridge.

“I was born in Colombia, and so I had a door from South America was huge. You definitely feel much more.”

This feeling of rapprochement from Francis was high for Torres, as his entire priesthood was presented under Pontefor to Pope, to this day.

Torres said: “As the Pope who ruled for 12 years, so for many people in the church, especially those younger, he is the only Pope they knew. He certainly distinguishes you in a different way.”

He says that those who attend his parish are now trying to understand the huge glory of Easter, along with the sorrow of the death of Francis.

“The messages and the people I spoke to in society were already wondering about it – how to reconcile this great joy with the deep joy that occurs on Easter because of the resurrection of Christ, but at the same time, the deep sadness that comes with the loss of the Pope.”

But he says that all Catholics in this together, regardless of where they live or the background of the culture they have.

“In a place like Lethbridge, it was definitely removed from Rome, but it is clear that it is strongly linked to our belief in our church and what is happening there.”
