American Trade Minister Howard Lottenic said that smartphones, computers and other consumer electronics may be subjected to separate definitions in one month, indicating that the exemptions made on Saturday may be temporary.
Late Friday, the Trump administration excluded smartphones and other consumer electronics from the sharp “mutual” definitions in a big batch of a large technology after a week of severe turmoil in the American market after the president launched a trade war on “Tahrir Day” on April 2.
