Virgil Van Digk signed a new contract in Liverpool.

The current REDS Skipper deal ended at the end of the season, but he formulated new conditions in Anfield for at least two years.

“I am very happy, very proud,” he told the club’s website.

“It is a proud feeling, it is a feeling of joy. It is incredible.

The news was widely expected to be wide after the Netherlands International confirmed last week the progress after a long period of negotiations.

Van Dick joins Mohamed Salah in committing his future to Liverpool after the Egyptian striker signed a new deal last week.

The 33 -year -old was linked to the move to Saudi Arabia, but he said that his first choice was always on Mercyside.

He added: “It was always Liverpool. This was the case. It was always in my head, the plan was always Liverpool.

“There was no doubt about my head that this is the right place for me and my family. I am one of Liverpool. Someone called me the last day of the adopted void – I am really proud to hear these things, he gives me a great feeling.”

Van Dijk joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2018 for 75 million pounds-international standards at the time for defender-and it can be said that it was half of the leading midfield in European football over the past seven years.

He participated in 314 games with Liverpool and helped them win the Premier League, the Champions League, FIFA World Cup, the European Football Association Cup, and the League Cup.
