LG’s Transparent OLED T TV can be yours for as low as $60,000

Engadget Billy Steele OLED T checked in January I was impressed by his unique presentation. Although some of the transparent visuals might seem annoying — like a miniature singer who appeared to be in the room — the aquarium video pictured below was more fun. He also found that the TV’s downward-facing speakers sounded surprisingly good.

You can change between transparent and opaque modes by pressing the button that raises or lowers the contrast display. It rolls up into a box at its base when you prefer a non-traditional aquarium look. It also includes taillights to highlight its transparent appearance.

The TV also has a chiron-like T-Bar at the bottom, which you can use to check sports scores, weather, song titles, and more. The tape can remain on even when the rest of the TV is off.

The OLED T is powered by LG’s Alpha 11 A1 processor, which has four times the performance of the previous generation chip – including 70 percent better graphics performance and 30 percent faster processing speed. The TV maintains its clean look with LG’s Zero Connect Box, which sends video and audio wirelessly to the TV. Simply connect streaming boxes and gaming consoles to it instead of connecting it to your TV.
