After excluding Charles Licerk and Luis Hamilton in the Chinese Grand Prix, Bernie Collins from Sky Sports cast a closer look at what happened and the consequences of moving forward.
The LCLERC car was 1 kg under the maximum weight of the car 800 kg, and the Hamilton board was under the car, an excessive wearing of half a millimeter.
The couple finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the race, but Ferrari came out of the Grand Prix on Sunday without any points.
Did Ferrari setting changes contributed to the exclusion of Hamilton?
Hamilton won a great way on Saturday, but Ferrari, like anyone else, is still making changes to adaptation or improvement in the Sunday race.
Bernie says: “I don’t think it is unusual to change the preparation after the enemy because you know in the enemy that you will not run 100 kg of fuel.
“One of these changes can be to raise the right length because you know that you will have to start the higher fuel.
“What differs between this and Austin two years ago (when hamilton’s Mercedes was excluded for the same reason), you were not allowed to change the preparation between the enemy and the main race, so when you read the Plank Wear game in SPRINT, you cannot respond to it.
“In the enemy, there was a lot of management from the main race because they made more rolls that were pushed on a solid frame, while in the middle they managed a lot of administration in the enemy, so it will not surprise me if the use of corrosion and fuel in the main race increased.”
Was Hamilton’s dual strategy to influence the wearing of the plate?
Hamilton was the only driver in the tenthly tenthly tenth place to implement a hard race, after he started on medium tires and came to steel in the 13th and Hards again in the 37 lamp in the 56 -rp.
BC says: “Two of the contestants will push more on each roll. The only slight meter for that for Lewis is that he did the task of two solids, and passes through this granular stage, which controls the pace a little.
“The only thing for Lewis is, I don’t know if he had been damaged by the Leclerc accident? FIA says that there were no reduced conditions,” and if Ferrari might prove damage or lack of declining strength, they were able to do that but they did not.
“As for Leclerc, who stopped one, people were saying, perhaps there was one pause. They did not know how much solid tires he would wear, so they had no appreciation collective loss of the solid frame but they were allowed to capture the sale and change the front wing of the leclerc.
“I don’t know where the loss came from the mass.”
Does Ferrari have a basic car design issue?
Interestingly, there were whispers in the ring after Australia had to raise Ferrari for the season of the season to avoid a lot of wearing the plate. While the team did not comment on the alleged issue, Hamilton is not qualified to wear the excessive plate a week after the eyebrows were raised.
Bernie says: “It will be customary for everyone to raise the car in Australia because of the bumps as they hurt the lower cycle and wear the plate.
“In Australia, Ferrari was not strong. Some of them were due to the strategy, but the performance of the qualifiers was not strong, so they may have a very sensitive car for a height of passengers in terms of air performance. All of these cars are because they are all cars with earthly effects, but they may be more sensitive than others.
“I will be surprised that the enemy in China was not a good indication that you will be illegal in wearing panels.
“If they get what we call a” peak “ride height, which means that there is a very small height in the ride that you can have a good dynamic platform, this is a problem for a car.
“You want to be fit to run a set of passengers due to all this range of tracks. For example, in Austria, there are severe restrictions so you want to add a little ride height there.
“Aero platform may be very peak.”
What will Ferrari do now to ensure that it is legal for Suzuka?
Bernie says: “Basically, it’s the task of the race engineer is that the car is legal. Every race engineer for every car, it is with them that the car is legal.
“They will try to understand why it is illegal in both cases, in the weight and wearing of the plate. It will be great to know if the Leclerc is legal on wearing Planc. We know that the Lewis car was legal on weight because all cars are examined on weight.
“The difference will know how much cars are on the bottom. They will go through all their procedures to find out what took them to the maximum and the margin should be changed.
“I don’t think anyone there is preparing the car, believing that it will be illegal to wear the wooden plate and I hope they will not be examined.”
What does all this mean for Hamilton’s relationship with Ferrari engineers?
Bernie says: “It is a stumbling block because Ferrari had a wrong strategy in Australia, in China it was excluded, so they should have been better, and it could be said that it had a wrong strategy because Lewis should not have incited for the second time.
“Louis was really struggling with the car on Sunday and the car was illegal. The changes in the preparation did not interact the way he wanted, or was not slow in the race, and they were illegal.
“So it is a stumbling block. If they pass through it and find everything wrong, Lewis can overcome it very quickly. But it is one of these little things that add to a lack of confidence.
“When Sebastian Vettel came to us in Aston Martin, I really wanted to think we were good in our jobs.
“I really wanted to go” if I called me to drilling, I will do it “because I trust in the team. We now have something strategic, radio, and now unpredictable, so it makes the driver not sure.”
