Does Katt Williams take credit for Steph Curry’s jumping skills?
Katt Williams has taken a social media hiatus again after a video from her podcast appeared at the 2024 Vulture Festival in November. In the clip, Kat claims he was the one who told Steph Curry to start shooting deep three-pointers before he stepped into the NBA.
“Anyone who knows me, knows that I don’t pretend to do it. That’s not part of doing it. It’s just doing what it is and leaving it. But I’m responsible for the greatest shooter in the NBA without a doubt! ” Kat said during the podcast interview.
The “Friday After Next” star dropped a 30-second story at Vulture Fest to back up his claim. Kat said he met Steph Curry before the NBA when he hired him to participate in a celebrity basketball game for Children and Family Services in Los Angeles. He explained that he made Curry join the team and gave him $5,000 to play. At the time, no one knew who Curry was, but as soon as he got on the court, he started shooting from anywhere past half court all the way to the three-point line.
“The next year, the next game he scores 50 points.” I say yeah dude, here you are making $5 grand for a famous basketball game, but you’re one of the greatest shooters of all time. “Do you realize that if you take your game to the NBA, they’re either going to have to change something or you’re going to become the greatest shooter of all time,” Kat continued.
Catt went on to say that he told Curry that if he could make a shot before defenders had time to react, he would be “the greatest shooter of all time.”
He added: “Now I am not saying that he took this advice and continued to do so, but he took my advice and continued to do so.” Williams said jokingly.
So far, Steve hasn’t said anything about Kat’s opinion of his career.
