Joy Barton delivered a suspended sentence after being convicted of assaulting the wife

Joy Barton received a 12 -week prison sentence in the Westminster Court of Judges after being convicted of assaulting his wife in June 2021.

The former 42 -year -old football player was condemned to attack his wife, Georgia Barton, after a heavy night with two other husbands.

According to the court’s procedures, Mrs. Barton, 38, maintained a bloc on her forehead and a nose of bleeding as a result of the argument.

After the accident, Mrs. Barton contacted the police, saying that her husband “just hit me.” However, she later presented a letter to the prosecutors in an attempt to withdraw her allegations.

Nevertheless, the chief judge Paul Goldsbring refused Barton’s version of the events as “mysterious” and finally created it guilty of the one assault by beating after a two -day trial.

The prosecution also argued that Mrs. Barton was not excessive as she and her husband suggested. Mrs. Dongi pointed out that her bloody nose “was a injury that really required an explanation,” adding, “It was, clearly, something that was not caused by an accident.”

During the trial, Barton admitted that he had argued with his wife, but he denied any physical quarrel. He was sleeping asleep in their bedroom on the night of the accident when the officers arrived to arrest him, and are still drunk.

At the police station, he remained silent during the interrogation, where he presented an interview with no capture.

Defense lawyer, Simon Seuka, asked about the timing of the events, indicating that there was an uncertainty about when Mrs. Barton was accurately injured before the emergency call.

He said: “There are a number of circumstances in which the injury may have been mistakenly.”

After appearing in the court, Barton did not speak, wearing a black jacket, mystical, pants, and glasses, who did not speak while he was in the dock, but instructions were directed to stand when the ruling was announced.

Despite the condemnation, Barton and his wife remain married and share two children together.
