Jennifer Lopez excludes Ben Affleck from her 2024 recap amid divorce

In the hybrid video, the actress showcased only special moments from her year, including cover shoots, performances, debuts, and award shows.

Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from the “Accountant” star last August, and the couple is currently mediating the separation process.

After facing a full year, Jennifer Lopez took to her Instagram page to share moments from her life as a memorial reflection on how she will spend 2024.

A video montage showed highlights from cover shots, performances, debuts and award shows. However, the actress specifically left out her ex-husband Ben Affleck.

Even in clips showing her documentary “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” Affleck was conspicuously absent, even though the project was inspired by her romance with the actor.

From all indications, it was a deliberate omission on the “Atlas” star’s part, and a sign that she’s willing to let go of the emotional weight of her ongoing divorce as she enters the new year.

This was also suggested in one of the highlights, where she can be seen saying: “In my low moments, I learned to feel the emotions and then let them go.”

Lopez used the video to signal to her fans her determination to reach new heights in the coming year, declaring that “the best is yet to come.”

It was no surprise that they responded with words of encouragement in the comments section, expressing their excitement for what the singer has in store.

“Love you! It’s been a tough year, but we’re so excited for 2025,” one fan commented, while another said: “To a bigger and better year! This is… 2025.”

A third fan commented, “You did an amazing job this year. I’m so proud of you. You’re my biggest inspiration. I know 2025 will be your amazing year, and the best is yet to come!”

Another Instagram user stated, “The best is yet to come!! It’s been a tough year, but you’re unstoppable! We love you so much and are working on this recap. Let’s go, 2025!!”

Another person wrote: “You are truly unstoppable! I can’t wait to see everything you accomplish next.”

According to Daily MailLopez and Affleck met for lunch on the Sunday before Christmas at the members-only Soho House hotel in West Hollywood.

The “Jenny From The Block” singer wore a cozy oversized sweater and wide-leg blue jeans for the date, and reportedly exchanged gifts with the “Argo” actor despite filing for divorce from him in August.

On the same day, Affleck was also seen picking up his son from ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s $7.8 million, four-bedroom home in Brentwood Park.

This comes after a source said Page six Last week the former couple “have every intention of continuing in each other’s lives despite the lack of a romantic relationship between them.”

“Ben and Jennifer are still connected and communicating when it comes to their children,” the insider added.

Ahead of the recap, Lopez hinted at her plans for the new year which include “pushing my boundaries creatively and seeing where that takes me,” according to Daily Mail.

Being a multi-hyphenate, the actress shared that these plans extend across all of her projects, “whether it’s through acting, music, producing or expanding JLo Beauty.”

“I want to continue to challenge myself to grow and try new things while being true to who I am and who I love,” she added.

Already, the actress has several projects in the works, including the release of the musical “Kiss the Spider Woman.”

Lopez plays the titular role and also serves as executive producer, with Bill Condon directing the project. The film is scheduled to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025, though production wrapped earlier this year.

Earlier this month, sources close to Lopez shared that she was keen to put the past behind her before the new year and was “focusing on her private life.”

“She’s had a tough year but she’s doing well,” an insider said of the mother of two in People magazine. “She’s ready for Christmas and starting the new year over.”

This Christmas, Affleck and Lopez spent the holiday apart, as expected. Sources revealed that Affleck celebrated with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their three children, while Lopez reportedly spent the celebrations with her sister Linda Lopez, her producing partner Eileen Goldsmith Thomas, her close friend Michelle Chiaravalli, and their children.

The couple is still mediating their divorce after Lopez filed papers in August to end their two-year marriage.
