Jacques Filnov, former world champion F1, said that Jack Douuhan was driving his “despair” after a mistake was revealed that led to his great crash in the second practice in the Japanese Grand Prix.
Douuhan lost control of high speed 1 on his second bosom in the Suzuka circuit, after the Alps chose to operate the driver of the Rio Hirakawa in his home race in the first practice.
It seemed initially as if he were his car in the Alps, but the accurate examination of the re -showed showed that the doctors on its back wing are still open.
On low fuel, the 1st junction in Suzuka is generally flat so that drivers do not make the brakes. DRS is automatically closed when the driver touches the brakes, so entering the first corner, the driver needs to stop the DRS RABLE manually by pressing the button on their steering wheel.
Douhan did not do it, causing losing the lower direction and going to a great rotation before hitting the wall.
“We all felt comfortable to see Jack walking away from his incident in free practice 2 and we are pleased to see that he is fine after the precautionary checks,” said Oliver Oak, director of the Alps team.
“It was wrong not to close the doctors at the turn 1. It is something to learn from it and I know that Jack will be ready for tomorrow. His crew will work hard to prepare the car after the damage.”
“First of all, I am fine after the accident. It was heavy, which caused my surprise, and I will learn from him,” Douuhan added.
“I know that the team has a lot of work to fix the car that goes to tomorrow, so thanks to their provides on their efforts. My focus is on tomorrow as we will have a free practice 3 to prepare to qualify.”
Villeneuve: Despair causes Doohan
Douhan came to 2025 under pressure after the signing of the Alps Franco Kulapinto, which led to speculation that Argentina lined up as a substitute.
The 22 -year -old was crashed in the grand prize race in his Australian home and ranked thirteenth after a week in China.
“The problem is that it is known before the first race that may not end this season,” said Jack Welnov, world champion, 1997 Sky SPORTS F1.
“He was subjected to tremendous pressure by the (Alpine President) Flavio Bricore, mainly, with Clapinto there he was waiting for the wings, and writing was on the wall.
“When he was already told,” do some races, but then, it is likely to be replaced “… you can see it in his leadership. It is not comfortable. And when the driver in this situation is psychologically, driving will not be normal and the little mistakes will not begin to happen.”
Can Lucun Tsunoda affect the Alps and Duhuhan?
Douuhan, who is in a one -year deal in the Alps, ended the runner -up in the 2023 Formula 2 championship before spending nearly a full season on the margin last year.
However, he was called in the grand prize race at the end of the season when Esteban Ocon left the Alps early.
Sky Sports F1 ‘S Naomi Schiff believes Red Bull’s decision to exchange Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda can affect Dubuhan.
“The talk about the weekend was what Liam’s rank was reduced after two race, and I think that sometimes it might give an inspiration to other teams to make difficult decisions early.”
“We do not know the number of races that Jack must prove. It is very harsh to come to such a circle and withdraw it from the FP1 (Herrawaya), which is very important about a very technical path, when he must learn the car, and learn the characteristics surrounding the circle.
“I wonder why Pierre did not get out of the car. He knows this path, he knows the car, he was here several times. It is a harsh feeling.”
