President Emmanuel Macron condemned the attack, announcing: “Racism and religion based on religion will not have a place in France. Religious freedom is not applicable.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Francois Bayro described the attack as “Islamophobi.”
The Grand Mosque in Paris identified the victim, which was domesticated in the name of Abnakar, when he was a young man in his twenties who was cleaning the mosque shortly before his attack.
The demonstrations were held to support the victim during the weekend at La Grand Combe and Paris, as activists demand stronger act against anti -Muslims violence.
France is home to the largest number of Muslims in Europe, and it constitutes about 10 percent of the country.
