The Israeli military said it failed to intercept a missile from Yemen early Saturday that landed in the Tel Aviv-Jaffa area, where the ambulance service said 14 people were slightly injured.

The ambulance service said in a statement that paramedics treated 14 people who suffered minor injuries from shrapnel, and some of them were taken to hospital.

The Israeli police stated that they received reports of a missile landing in a town in the Tel Aviv area.

The Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen has repeatedly launched drones and missiles towards Israel in what they described as acts of solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.

On Thursday, Israel launched strikes against ports and energy infrastructure in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen and threatened more attacks against the Yemeni group.
