Indian actor Manuj Kumar, known for his roles in the Indian language films with national themes, died at the age of 87.

Kumar died in Mumbai due to heart -related complications on Friday, as his son, Kunal Josouami, told the News Agency in India.

“He had health issues for a long time. It is the grace of God to make a religion for this world safely. He will hold it tomorrow (Saturday).”

Throughout his career, Kumar was known for acting – sometimes he directs – films focusing on national unity and pride. Therefore, he was often called “Baharat” Kumar – in reference to the old Sanskriti of India.

Born in Harichan Josouami, he was named in Bollywood traditions, named Manuj Kumar.

He appeared for the first time in Indian cinema in the late fifties and went to the stars in many films, many national topics, including UPKAR (1967), Purab Aur Pachhim (1970) and Kraanti (1981).

Kumar won many national awards, including the Dadasahb Phalake Award, the highest honor for cinema in India.

He was also a member of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Hindu Ruling Hakimia, BJP. Modi led condolences, describing Kumar as an “icon” of Indian cinema and saying his works “ignited the spirit of national pride and will continue to inspire generations.”

The President of India Dubadi Mirmo published X as “saddened by the disappearance of the legendary actor and director.”

“He left an indelible sign on Indian cinema,” she wrote.

In his honor, the actor of Bollywood Akshay Kumar said that “he grew up as he learned from him that there is no emotion like love and pride for our country.”

“And if the actors do not take the initiative to show these feelings, then who will narrate? Such a wonderful person, and one of the largest origins of our brothers,” Akshay Kumar posted X.
