American Water Foundation (NYSE:) Charitable Trust provides a total of $260,000 to support the workforce development initiatives of the National Urban League and the affiliated movement

WOODRIDGE, Ill.–( BUSINESS WIRE )– American Water Charitable Trust, a 501(c)(3) organization created by American Water, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility in the USA, Inc. and Illinois American Water today received a $20,000 commitment from the Chicago Urban League (CUL) as part of a larger corporate strategic grant. The funding will advance workforce development initiatives that help close the equity gap between African Americans and other historically disadvantaged groups throughout the Chicago Metropolitan Area.

Our Workforce Development Center empowers more than 3,700 individuals annually with a comprehensive range of services that prepare them for in-demand jobs in high-growth industries. The CUL Workforce Development Center is committed to empowering individuals through comprehensive workforce services tailored to high-demand industries, including information technology, clean energy, supply chain logistics, building and construction trades (Community Trade and Apprenticeship Program – CTAP), and healthcare . CUL programs focus on career path training, providing participants with the tools and guidance needed to navigate these thriving fields.

CUL offers specialized training and certification opportunities in various sub-fields across these industries, ensuring participants have the technical skills and certifications required to excel. Upon completion of the program, participants benefit from personalized employment assistance, connecting them to job opportunities that match their training and career goals.
