In a remarkable testimony to India’s dynamic entrepreneurship landscape, Hurun India’s Top 200 Self-Made Entrepreneurs of the Millennium 2024 report, recently released, in collaboration with IDFC FIRST Private Banking, highlights the diverse range of age and innovation that defines the country’s business ecosystem.
The list celebrates the achievements of nearly 400 founders at 200 companies, and reveals an impressive age spectrum, with the youngest entrepreneurs being just 21 years old and the oldest being 81 years old – a gap of 60 years.
At the forefront of younger entrepreneurs is Kaivalya Vohra, the 21-year-old founder of Zepto, the express grocery delivery service that has transformed e-commerce in India. Founded in 2021, Zepto caters to the growing demand for fast and reliable grocery delivery, becoming a household name in urban India. Vohra is joined by his co-founder, Aadit Palicha, 22, making Zepto an icon of youth-driven innovation.
At the other end of the spectrum is Ashok Sutta, 81, the founder of Happiest Minds Technologies, which he founded in 2011 after a successful stint as CEO at Mindtree. Happiest Minds focuses on digital transformation services, and Soota’s leadership continues to inspire, demonstrating that age is no barrier to entrepreneurial success.
