Humans outperform robots in Beijing half a marathon Technology news

Human robots were not identical to human competitors because they first appeared in the Chinese capital in the Chinese capital.

Humans took the initiative of robots and kept it easily because they were racing against victory in Yizhuang Half Marchhon from Beijing.

Thousands of contestants joined 21 competitors of the human robot in a global challenge of 21 km (13 miles, 352 yards) in the Chinese capital on Saturday.

But not every robot was at the level of the mission. One moments collapsed after the starting rifle and put it without mobility for minutes before recovering her feet. Another criticized a barrier after only a few steps, and took her treatment with it.

Some machines have reached the finish line, but they are still poorly left behind. Tiangong Ultra, which was developed by Beijing Center for Innovation for Human Robots, scored two hours and 40 minutes. Men’s winner ended more than an hour.

“In general, these are interesting demonstrations, but they do not prove much regarding useful work benefit or any type of primary intelligence,” said Alan Verne, Professor of Robots at Oregon State University.

“The robots work very well, very stable … I feel I am witnessing the development of robots and AI,” said Secho, a local Amnesty International engineer who is seen from the side lines.

Although technically in the race, robots were not fully independent. Each one came with a team of engineers, some of whom need material support to stay in a straight position.

Chinese companies such as Droidvp and Noetix Robotics that have provided robots of all shapes and sizes, with a few boxing gloves and head gangs. Officials likened the event in motorsport more than a traditional race.

“The focus on moving forward is industrial applications … so that they can enter factories, work scenarios, and finally families,” said Tang Jian, CTO at the Tiangong Laboratory.
