How Big Cliffhanger Season 2 sets up Squid Game Season 3

The second season of writer-director Hwang Dong-hyuk’s critically acclaimed and incredibly popular Netflix series “Squid Game” is officially here, and the third season, According to Hwang, it will premiere sometime in 2025. Just like in Season 1, there’s a lot of petty bickering between the 456 contestants over the massive amount of prize money, but in the midst of it, Ji-hoon manages to rally a small, loyal group of fellow players to revolt against the guards, and in the process, the man. The show then cuts to black (aside from the post-credits scene), so it’s relatively safe to assume that Season 3 will pick up where Season 2 left off.

It’s reasonable to assume that as Squid Game Season 3 begins, Ji Hoon will learn that the front man is actually the man who has been his ally in the game itself up until this point. Which He was Mimicking the twist in Season 1 pretty directly (although the show actually repeated said twist verbatim, so anything goes, it seems), but it definitely feels like Season 2 was setting up for that big reveal. On the other hand, maybe Front Man will find a different way to punish Gi-hun and keep him in the dark about his identity – except for Jung-bae, Gi-hun’s other friends in the game are still alive (as far as we know). I know) – so the front man can remain convincing, not reveal that he’s actually Hwang In Ho, and simply pick off the rest of Ji Hoon’s allies. (This would be really harsh for the audience, but this is “Squid Game,” so this wouldn’t be completely unprecedented.)

There’s also the matter of In-ho’s brother played by Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon), a detective searching for In-ho and the exact location of the games. He’s not quite getting anywhere, but hopefully his lackluster storyline will bring him back into the action in Season 3. At this point, one thing seems fairly certain: Ji Hoon won’t be casually joining matches as a new player for a long time. third Time, it certainly looks like the series will turn its conflict into a confrontation between Ji Hoon and the front man.
