Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity Ai, did not come out a lot during his training period in Bangaluru – and it is too late, he does not mind.

Speaking with Niegel Kamt on his podcast, Iit-Maadras Shape stay in his apartment in Koramangala to work instead of exploring the city. He said: “I remember that the traffic is bad and I was told that it is worse now. So it may be good that I stayed in the room and just worked.” What left a sign, though, was the weather. “I remember that the weather was great compared to Chennai.”

Serenivas spent three weeks in Bengaluru, most of them in Curamangla, but he admitted that he did not wander much. “I just worked all the time. Now that I look back, I may think I should have been exploring … I was intending to explore Bangalore in general.”

Kathath replied by saying that Serenivas may have made the right contact by choosing work on roaming.

Serenivas was reflected in his work ethics, saying that he was always part of his personality. “I really worked … I worked all the time. I’m very proud of that.” When asked why he pushes himself very hard, he said: “I think I enjoy it. I do not do it because, oh, you have to do that and then you will achieve it – it is impossible to expand its scope.”

For Srinivas, it is not about bonuses but about curiosity. “I enjoy the intellectual part of learning new things, curiosity and learning new things.”

Share a story from his conversation with AI PodCaster Lex Fridman, who was grilled on the basics of artificial intelligence, nerve networks, and how Google earns money. “I actually thought I knew all this, but this man really tested me … I enjoy these types of conversations because they are rare.”

He also talked about the strength of asking questions, no matter how simple it may appear. “Even there is a saying from Confucius: You may feel fool for a minute if you ask a question, but you will be foolish throughout your life if you do not. I always support the people who ask questions.”
