The opponents of US President Donald Trump and his advisor, billionaire Elon Musk, joined gatherings throughout the United States to protest the administration’s actions to reform government and expand the presidential authority.
There were more than 1,200 “Off” marches on Saturday, as the organizers expected the largest day to fill in the recent initiatives of the administration.
The protest sites included the National Trade Center in Washington, DC, where the organizers expected that more than 20,000 people will attend and sites in all fifty American states.
Mike Hanna from Al -Jazeera from Washington, DC, said that the crowd expressed their dissatisfaction with the overall executive measures of the administration and restructuring led by the Ministry of Governmental efficiency in Musa.
Reforms resulted in the elimination of more than 200,000 federal jobs and significant benefits, especially within the internal revenue and social security department.
“This is one of the biggest demonstrations that we have seen since Trump began his second term, and it may indicate the increasing frustration between the Americans,” said Hanna, who also pointed to the diverse training of the demonstrators.
Hanna said: “The protest organizers said that this will not lead to an immediate change, but it is important to show that many Americans oppose what Donald Trump represents,” Hanna said.
In Chicago, thousands of demonstrators gathered in the downtown area. John Henerin from Al -Jazeera said, John Hindern of Al -Jazeera said he was “a largely union crowd.”
“These people are concerned about their jobs … these people are often citizens, and they are in Chicago and their messengers to the Trump administration and Eileon Musk” my hands. “
International protests
Throughout the world, American expatriates and local supporters gathered in cities including Berlin, Frankfurt, Paris and London.
In Paris, nearly 200 demonstrators, mostly Americans, gathered at Place de La Republique, and display banners with messages such as “Resist Tyrant”, “Judgment of Law”, and “Feminists for Freedom, not Fascism”.
Timothy Kawzi, a spokesman for Democrats abroad, stressed the importance of global solidarity. “We have to show solidarity with all demonstrations in a thousand city today in the United States of America,” he told Reuters.

“This is an enormous demonstration that sends a very clear message to Musk, Trump, Republican in Congress and all our allies who install the weight,” said Ezra Levin, co -founder of Indivible, one of the organized groups, speaking to Reuters.
The White House defended the actions of the administration.
“President Trump’s position is clear: it will always protect social security, medical care and medical aid for qualified beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the position of Democrats gives social security, the advantages of medical care for illegal foreigners, which will raise these programs and crush the elderly.”
The pro -Palestinian groups also participated in the Washington demonstrations, in protest against the US administration’s support for the renewed military actions of Israel in Gaza and the repression in the protests on the campus.
