Hamza Shiraz promises Janbek Alimkhanuli a unification bout after the WBC title fight

IBF and WBO middleweight champion Hamzah Shiraz has told Janbek Alimkhanuli that he will fight him in unification after he knocks out WBC champion Carlos Adams on February 22.

Shiraz (21-0, 17 KO) faces Adams (24-1, 18 KO) on Turki Al Sheikh’s mega card on February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. If Shiraz wins that fight, there will be a lot of interest in the fight between him and Janebek (16-0, 11 KOs), who many fans consider the king of the 160-pound division.

It’s hard to imagine Hamza agreeing to fight Janibek if he gets his hands on the WBC belt because he would be offered a nice payday in an easy fight against Chris Eubank Jr. He won’t want to say no to that in a match where he is likely to be the underdog against Janepek, who can take advantage of his shaky chin.

Shiraz’s eyes are beside you

Janebek has been overlooked by the top fighters in the division, who have shown no interest in facing him, even though he holds two titles. His popularity is not high enough to attract the top names in the mostly barren division to fight him. He is dangerous and has technical skills on a different level than most fighters.

Limchanuli has looked dangerous lately, destroying Andrej Mikhailovich, Vincenzo Gualtieri and Steven Butler. I’m not sure Hamza is superior to all of these guys. He might knock them out, but if any of them fall on his fragile chin, it could be over. We saw how Austin “Amo” Williams got Hamza into trouble early in their fight on June 1, and he had a very limited performance.

“Shake my hand. I’ll finish my job against Carlos Adams, and we’ll make it happen and come together. That’s as simple as that,” Hamza Shiraz told the media, telling IBF and WBO middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuli that he would fight him as soon as he took the WBC 160-pound belt from champion Carlos Adams on February 22, “also with his manager (Aegis Klimas).
