Google Declared this week Starting on October 25, the first and second generation software updates will not support or update. It will completely stop launching new Nest products in Europe.
This means that the owners of the Nest Themostats that were released in 2011 and 2012 (as well as the version issued in Europe in 2014) will not receive updates, and their devices will not be supported in nest applications and home applications. However, they will be able to adjust the temperature and timelines directly on their devices.
Google said: “For the full investment in progress (future) and bringing you the most advanced feature in the latest generation of nesting thermostat, we will move away from the support of three of our oldest devices, each of them over a decade.”
The reason why it will not release NST thermostat in Europe, the company added that “heating systems in Europe are unique and have a variety of requirements for devices and programs that make it difficult to build a variety of homes.” The current nest devices will remain in Europe while supplies will continue.
