Goodville Shifting Farming is celebrating the third year of its partnership with Global Health OrganizationAs part of this collaboration, new mental health resources and treatment advice have been introduced. The biggest addition is Sarah, an AI-powered in-game assistant who offers resources and information about mental health based on World Health Organization guidelines.
According to Goodville, players can take interactive quizzes that are integrated into gameplay. Sarah will evaluate the information players give her and provide advice and mental health advice in response. Sarah is one of several assistants in the game, all of whom provide health advice to players. The developers reported 2,500 daily interactions with health assistants.
In an interview with GamesBeat, a Goodville spokesperson said: “Including tips in the game makes it more accessible and interactive. Players interact with Sarah through a series of questions, upon which she makes recommendations. This approach allows players to obtain valuable information in a more casual and engaging format.” Which enhances the understanding of the tips and their better application in real life.
“We welcome efforts by video game companies, like Goodville, to encourage their large online communities to take steps to improve health and wellbeing,” Andy Pattison, head of the WHO’s digital channels team, said in a statement. “We need to continue to reach people with information.” Trusted, science-based health care wherever they are and at their fingertips.
