On Thursday, a French court issued a 20-year prison sentence against Giselle Bellicot’s ex-husband, after he admitted to drugging her for about ten years so that he and dozens of men could rape her. Another 49 men were also convicted of rape at trial. Bellicott became a feminist icon after she was forced to hold a public trial to show rape victims that they were not alone. Eileen Coby reports from Paris.
