A French court has declared Giselle Bellicot’s ex-husband guilty of aggravated rape and all other charges against him.
A court in Avignon on Thursday found at least 20 men accused of being recruited by Frenchman Dominique Bellicot to rape his then-wife – who had been knocked unconscious by drugs, over the course of about a decade – of rape.
Some of the men admitted wrongdoing, while others said they believed Giselle Bellicot had consented to sex.
The court’s chief judge, Roger Arata, read the sentence to 72-year-old Dominic. The sentence, which could reach up to 20 years in prison, has not yet been issued.
