Germany is ready to send long -range missiles to Ukraine, the country’s adviser said to wait, stressing the need to put Kyiv on the front foot interventions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Friedrich Mirz, who will take office as a leader of the largest country of Europe next month, condemned a Russian attack on the Ukrainian city of Sumi on Sunday as a “serious war crime” and said that Kiev needed help to “go ahead” in the conflict.

When asked whether he would follow a previous invitation to Germany to provide Ukraine with Taurus missiles that have long requested Kiev, he said he would be ready to do this if he was done in coordination with European allies.

“Our European partners already provide Cruise missiles,” he told the public broadcaster on Sunday night. “The British do this, the French do it, and the Americans do so anyway.”

He added: “This subscriber must be agreed upon. If it is agreed, then Germany must participate.”

Referring to US President Donald Trump’s efforts to stand through a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, Mirz warned that Putin would not “respond positively to weaknesses and peace.”

He said the attack on SumsWho left at least 34 deadly civilians and 117 wounds, “what Putin is doing to those who talk to him about the ceasefire.”

He added: “At some point, (Putin) must realize despair from this war, which means that we must help Ukraine.”

The outgoing consultant in Germany, Olaf Schulz, has repeatedly rejected the calls of Kiev and its allies to supply the Ukrainian armed forces with Taurus missiles, which has a smart war system that could cause great damage to structures such as bridges and hideouts.

The scope of a 500 -km -length bull system – created by a joint venture between the European missile maker MBDA and Saab’s Saab – is longer than the shadows of the storm provided by the British and French missile system and the army provided by the United States, and will allow the Ukraine armed forces to be beaten further than the front line.

Choles said that supplying Kyiv with Taurus missiles will carry a “great danger to escalation” in the conflict of Russia, Ukraine.

Mirz, the leader of the Christian Democrats in the center (CDU), which came first in the federal elections in February, criticized this position, which last October called for a warning to Putin and pledged to deliver weapons within 24 hours if he fails to make civilian infrastructure attacks in Okreen.

However, Mirz returned to these comments during the election campaign, as Schulz sought to throw himself as a “peace consultant” who protects Germany from the wounding of the conflict in Ukraine. He also had to face an increase in the polls for the right -wing alternative to Germany (AFD), which supports Détente with Moscow.

But on Sunday, Mirz indicated that he was only ready to provide bull missiles, but also suggested that they be used to strike targets such as Kerch Bridge, which connects Russia with the Crimea, and is seen as a symbol of Putin’s occupation of the peninsula.

However, it is unclear whether the partners of the Mirz alliance of social Democrats (SPD) will support the provision of bull missiles.
