The German Interior Minister said on Saturday that the Saudi suspect in the deadly car attack on a Christmas market in Germany is believed to be “suffering from Islamophobia.” The 50-year-old doctor, who is now detained, said that the German authorities had not done enough to combat “Islamism in Europe,” and also expressed his support for the far-right, anti-immigrant Alternative for Germany party.
