George Foreman, heavyweight hero, dead in 76

Heavyweight hero George Foreman died at the age of 76, his family announced on Friday.

His family said Foreman died surrounded by loved ones.

“Our hearts are broken,” the family wrote in an Instagram. “With deep sadness, we announce the death of the beloved George Edward Foreman, who left peacefully on March 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.”

“A religious preacher, a loyal husband, a love father, a great and great grandfather, who lived a life characterized by fixed faith, humility and purpose,” continued this position.

This position added: “Humanity, who is an Olympic, and twice the heavyweight hero in the world, was very respectful – a force for good, a man of discipline, condemnation, and the protector of his heritage, fights tirelessly to preserve his good name – to his family.”

His family said they were “grateful for the flow of love and prayers, and I ask for privacy gently and we honor the unusual life of a man we were working to contact him.”
