The Israeli army is targeting three major hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, with doctors and authorities in the Strip calling for immediate intervention by the international community.

On Tuesday, Israeli attacks intensified over a week on Kamal Adwan Hospital, the besieged Indonesian hospital in Beit Lahia, and Al Awda Hospital, located east of the Jabalia refugee camp.

Two unmanned explosive-laden automated vehicles were planted previously Hospital director Hossam Abu Safiya told Al Jazeera that a bombing was carried out by the Israeli army in the vicinity of Kamal Adwan in the early hours of Tuesday morning, wounding about 20 patients and medical staff.

This was the first time that Israeli forces used explosives outside Kamal Adwan, but there were similar reports of their use to blow up buildings in northern Gaza.

Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud said in a report from Deir al-Balah in central Gaza: “An eyewitness told us that a large part of the area surrounding the hospital had been cleared of buildings, and the infrastructure was destroyed and severely damaged, hindering movement inside and outside the hospital.” “.

The hospital has been repeatedly bombed by the Israeli army, rendering various departments, including the intensive care unit, inoperable.

The Al Awda Foundation, a charitable facility providing free health care in the northern part of the Strip, was bombed on the third floor by the Israeli army on Tuesday. Parts of the building caught fire, and the fire also spread to neighboring residential buildings.

The Indonesian Hospital, a larger health facility, has also come under increasing Israeli attacks and threats, after Israeli forces also threatened to evacuate the entire facility.

Al Jazeera’s Mahmoud said the two hospitals are providing medical supplies to the besieged Kamal Adwan and are also transporting patients from there when possible.

“The Indonesian hospital has been paralyzed by attacks in the past few months. A large part of the facility was damaged, forcing many to evacuate. As of midnight, the Israeli army issued a warning to everyone inside the hospital, including patients, to leave the building and be in the streets in Cold weather amid intimidation with tanks and quadcopters.

Hospital directors, health authorities and human rights organizations inside and outside Gaza have condemned the attacks and called for international assistance, but the situation in the north has deteriorated.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said in a statement on Tuesday that the Israeli army is trying to put the three hospitals in northern Gaza out of service, and appealed for intervention.

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights said that more than 20 attacks on Kamal Adwan Hospital in recent days using drones, shelling and shooting show that “genocide is continuing” in Gaza.

Aid delivery ‘almost impossible’

The Israeli military continues to launch several deadly airstrikes on Gaza every day, with medical sources on Tuesday confirming that at least 32 people have been killed in the past 24 hours.

Among the recent Israeli attacks was the bombing of a house in central Gaza, which killed four people, including a child and two women.

Aid groups say the Israeli army has continued to block humanitarian aid heading to the Strip, with the chaos resulting from its ground offensive presenting countless challenges for the tiny trucks to safely reach specific locations.

On Monday night, an Israeli drone bombed an area about one kilometer from Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah, targeting a humanitarian aid convoy.

Al Jazeera’s Mahmoud, reporting from the hospital, said the Israeli army initially allowed gangs to attack the convoy with the aim of looting it, and later launched a drone attack against security guards who were trying to protect the shipment.

“These appear to be deliberate attacks to cause more chaos. Israel has killed 30 of these security guards so far.”

Tom Fletcher, head of the UN humanitarian agency OCHA, said that in a year in which more humanitarian workers were killed than in any year on record, Gaza is currently dealing with its most dangerous situation yet.

“As a result, despite the massive humanitarian needs, it has become almost impossible to provide even a small portion of the urgently needed assistance. The Israeli authorities continue to effectively deny us access – with more than 100 requests to access northern Gaza rejected since 6 October.” /October We are also now witnessing the collapse of law and order and the systematic armed looting of our supplies by local gangs.
