Surveillance camera footage inside a parking garage in Port Vila showed the moment a 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck the capital of Vanuatu.

The quake, which occurred at 12:47 local time (01:47 GMT) on Tuesday, caused landslides, crushing cars and flattening multiple buildings.

Two people can be seen running from falling debris in the garage, while the camera also appears to capture a dog trying to escape the danger.

There are unconfirmed reports of deaths and the full extent of damage in Vanuatu remains unclear.
