The scheduled dates and Fyre Festival 2 were suspected, according to US media reports.
Restarting the FYRE 2017 festival, which releases international newspapers, ignited a successful documentary in Netflix and led to the going to the organizer Billy McFarland to prison on charges of fraud, in Mexico from May 30 to June 2.
McFarland’s second attempt – it was announced long after he was released from prison – tickets ranging from $ 1,400 (1,058 pounds) were announced to $ 1.1 million (831,534 pounds).
But now the organizers are looking for a new festival site, with the specific dates unconfirmed.
The organizers said in an update reported by NBC News and New York Times that the event is “still”.
The update said: “We are examining new sites and we will announce our host destination soon. Our priorities are still unchanged: to provide an unforgettable, safe and transparent experience.”
Tell McFarland NBC News that date depends on the site.
BBC has reached Fyre 2 to comment.
The uncertainty comes after two local governments in Mexico said that they do not have planning records for the festival that the organizers said would happen in their areas.
In February, the organizers announced the festival’s website called Ila Mujeres, an island off CNCún.
However, the local city council posted on Facebook that “no person or company has asked for this office or any other municipal government administration for the aforementioned event.”
The event was resigned on a new site in Playa Del Carmen. This local government published X that “there is no event with this name that has reached our city.”
“After a responsible review of the situation, he confirms that there is no registration, planning or conditions indicating the event in the municipality,” I read the translation of the statement.
McFarland and Fyre Festival 2 posted documents on Instagram they said they showed approval of this event. One document indicated permission to 250 people in a place. McFarland said 1,800 tickets were for sale.
For many, the latest developments will come in a little surprise.
The original Fyre was upgraded by fashion models and celebrities as an exclusive smuggler for the wealthy, and the site was crowded as a private island owned by Lord Pablo Escobar.
But the pioneers of the festivals arrived in the Bahamas to find all canceled talents, naked ranks in the tents that were transferred from storms and cheese sandwiches in ready -made meal containers.
McFarland was sentenced in 2018 to six years in prison for fraud in wires, and also ordered the return of $ 29 million to investors.
He was released in 2022 as part of an early launch program, but he was still under observation until August.
Last year, McFarland announced the restart, saying, “Fyre 2 must work.”
He claimed that he spent a year planning for him, and already sold 100 tickets at a “early bird” rate of $ 499. It is not clear that the number of tickets has been sold so far.
No festival collection has been announced.
Last year, Andy King, an investor at the first Fyre Festival, issued a warning to anyone interested in going to the planned restarting: “Follow with caution.”
Mr. King, who lost a million dollars in the original disaster, BBC said This was McFarland “known for the biggest failure of pop culture and he wants to turn the scenario. But I am not sure that he is going on this way.”
