CNBC learned that former Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will join a Pimco consulting council.
Joining other prominent officials in the world of economics and financing will work Yellen, who also held the position of Chairman of the Federal Reserve, at the Board of Directors that meets several times a year, according to a report from Leslie Baker.
The mission of the advisory council, according to Pimco, is to “contribute to their visions in the company on economic, political and global strategy and its importance for financial markets.”
Among the current members Gordon Brown, former UK Prime Minister; Former Chief of Staff of the House Joshua Boltin; Michèle Flournoy, a former defense policy adviser under two American presidents, and Raghuram Rajan, an economist and former governor of the Indian Reserve Bank.
In addition, former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanky worked as a first consultant in Pimco and Richard Clarida, who served as Vice President of the Central Bank, is the administrative director of the company’s office in New York.
Yellen was the head of the Treasury Department during all four years of the Biden Administration, and before that a chair was fed from 2014-18. She was the first woman to occupy the concerned jobs. Before you take the Treasury Center, I served a work period as a distinguished colleague in Think Brookings Institute Tank.
Pimco, based in New Port Beach, California, runs about $ 2 trillion for customers, and once runs the largest bond box in the world. I have a past with the company, as it was reported as soon as I raised the speaking fees of $ 180,000 in the company in 2019.
