Former American MP-Love, R-riah, died on Sunday at the age of 49, according to her family.
Love, who was the daughter of the Haiti immigrants and the first black republican woman elected to the Congress “died in peace” surrounded by the family.
“With grateful hearts that fill MIA’s deep influence on our lives, we want you to know that she died in peace today.”

“In the midst of the celebration of her life and a set of happy memories, Mia quietly slipped the death teams, and as her words and visions always did, the sky rose,” the family continued. “We are grateful for many good wishes, prayers and condolences. We take some time as a family and we will provide information about funeral services and the general celebration of her life in the coming days.”

Love was undergoing brain cancer, but her daughter said earlier this month that the former Congress cancer was no longer responding to it.
