Nottingham Forest rose to second place in the table with a 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park in one of four matches that kicked off on Sunday at 3pm in the English Premier League.
Goals from Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White gave Forest victory as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side moved two points clear of Arsenal with Arsenal not playing until tomorrow.
This completes an impressive second half of the year for Espirito Santo’s side, who travel to struggling Wolves on January 6.

At the other end of the table, Tyler Deepling scored the first goal of Ivan Juric’s reign as Southampton took an early lead in their match against Crystal Palace.
However, Trevo Chalobah equalized on the half-hour mark before Eberechi Eze completed the comeback in the 52nd minute.
The result keeps Saints at the bottom of the league, while Palace are two points clear of 14th-placed Manchester United.
At Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Tottenham and Wolves tied 2-2, with Jurgen Strand Larsen scoring the equalizer in the 87th minute for the visitors.

Hwang Hee-chan gave Wolves an early lead, but Rodrigo Bentancur and Brennan Johnson turned the score on its head before half-time.
And Ange Postecoglou’s recent frustrations compounded when Strand Larsen equalized with three minutes remaining in the 90th minute.
A few miles across town at Craven Cottage, Fulham and Bournemouth also played out a four-goal draw.
After an impressive win at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day, Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson scored for Marco Silva’s side.
But the Cherries responded every time after falling behind, with Evanilson and Dango Ouattara earning a point for Andoni Iraola’s side.
