Thomas Tuchel aims to re -excite the England players after they said they suffer from pressure by pressure and “playing do not lose” in the euro.
England fell in the last obstacle of the second consecutive European Championship last summer under the leadership of Gareth Southgate, where it finished second in Spain after a series of overwhelming performances.
Tuchel was assigned to help the team take the next step and end what it will be 60 years without a big cup with victory in the World Cup next year – but he says that the players must get freedom to express themselves.
Tuchel said, before watching the euro, I felt tense and pressed the shoulders of the players.
“They felt they were playing so that they would not lose and add more pressure (instead) more than (with) the excitement to make something special. We need to change this.
“I want us to play with excitement, hunger and joy to win,” he added. “Accepting failure is part of it in football. You want to carry out this teamwork and joy that everyone feels safe to express themselves and provide their best.
“Play with joy to win, not fear of loss.”
“We need to make sure that everyone knows its role.”
In response to a question about how to create this opportunity for players, Tuchel said it depends on the structure and understands each player about his required role – something that he proposes in Germany amid changes in the system during the tournament.
“Gareth did excellent (in playing players in correct locations),” Tuzel said. “In the euro, they were not free enough to express themselves in a stable structure. But England was not the only team that changes the structure from the match to the match.
“I think that when we play now, we need to make sure that everyone knows his role in this field, accepts his role and plays disciplined in his role, then freedom comes and inside your area you can search for solutions.
“We need to link a little better, find more rhythm and slightly better connections in this field.”
These bonds started this week, in the first camp of Tuchel rule. The German said that although it was a “crash cycle” for him on how international weeks work, the quality of the England band has sparked him.
“I immediately remind me of why I was very enthusiastic about the job,” Tuzel said from his players. “It was because of them. They were great in the way they acted, and they interacted as a group but also on the field. It was amazing. We had high quality, very sharp training sessions. Everyone was open to present their best.
“Good energy, good atmosphere. That’s what I love more – to be about the players and implement ideas on the field and adapt to their characters, strength and talent. It has been very good yet.”
Tuchel says that players must continue the bonds while with clubs
But Tuchel also says that working in the team group should continue after Friday’s match with Albania and Monday’s match with Latvia if it will succeed in the World Cup next year.
“We have only six camps, and this is why I was very strong at the point of linking with each other,” he said.
“We need to find them, then I have to keep in touch between the camps, whether it is to visit the players or contact them. Players need to stay in contact between the camps as well, and take care of each other.
“Otherwise, six camps will not be sufficient to create a special atmosphere and teamwork that will be required when we arrive in the United States.
“Thinking about what we have to do and the result will not help us. The only thing that helps is worship every day, and the players have done it every day since Monday.
“It was my pleasure to be part of it, but it is not over, this is just the beginning.”
