Eddie Hao “is not 100 %” but is happy to return to Newcastle

Edi Hao says his last illness was “difficult”, but he is happy to return to the Newcastle United leadership against Epswich on Saturday.

But Hao has returned and said: “I’m okay. I’m not 100 % in my body, but I would like to think I am very close to 100 % in my mind, which is the most important thing.

“When you do not have the luxury of a natural feeling, it may be very difficult, so I definitely passed a set of feelings. Thank God, I feel that I am on the way to healing, which is the most important thing.

“I am pleased to be here. The employees have acted and have acted with all, so a real greeting to them and now I come back and I can add something to the group while we go to the last five games.”

Hao says he made the decision as soon as he was fully moving away from his role and not staying in contact with Tindal and his employees.

He said: “I made zero. I made a conscious decision when I didn’t feel good enough to focus on football to give Jason and all the coaches full responsibility because you are either everything or I could not contribute.

“The care I received from NHS was ever. I couldn’t thank them enough, it was very cool, the care and love I felt from them.

“I am really appreciated and I am very grateful.”

Newcastle goes to the weekend in fifth place – which will secure a place for the Champions League for the next season.
