Rangers Dogon Sterling defender will undergo surgery due to Achilles injury that will exclude him “in the long run.”
The 25 -year -old was divided into a draw in the European League with Athletic Club in IBROX on Thursday, forcing them to see the game with nine players after the early Robin Propeper card.
Coach Barry Ferguson says he is “destroyed” in the news, as the British pound returned only to work last month after a foot injury that forced him to miss 12 games.
Ferguson told Sky Sports News.
“I destroyed him for several reasons. It came and was enormous for me in the back. He lived his problems in injury and now we need to suffer from a long talisman on the margin, which I destroyed. We will turn around, he is a famous member in the dressing room and he was a great player for me.
“We just need to restore it as quickly as possible.
“I don’t know exactly (how much time will come out) but I mean in the long run. I am not a medical expert but I spoke to the doctor, and he will go to surgery on Monday and we will just need to wait and see how this surgery is going.”
