Dorit Kemsley’s husband PK opens up about his sobriety

Dorit Kemsleyher estranged husband, B. K. KemsleyHe’s backing down after his wife called him a “total alcoholic” during a recent episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

The couple is currently separated — having announced their split in May 2024 — and the 48-year-old “RHOBH” reality star noted that her breakup with PK partly stems from his drinking.

Dorit and Paul “BK” Kemsley have two children – an 8-year-old daughter, Phoenix, and a 10-year-old son, Jagger.

PK appeared in an episode of Bravo’s “Hot Podcast” Aired on December 24, he admitted that drinking was one aspect of the couple’s breakup, but it was just “part” of their breakup.

“My alcoholism had an element of responsibility in terms of the breakdown of our marriage,” he said. “But that was just a component, wasn’t it? And the truth is, if you understand the disease, alcoholism is a symptom. It’s not a cause, so the reality is, do you have to get to the reason behind it.” So, it is not easy to say that he was a ‘total alcoholic’ and that is why we broke up.”

according to Page sixHe also questioned Dorit’s “lack of understanding about sobriety” and accused his estranged wife of not running the program as he did. “I’m in full recovery. That’s the term ‘complete’ to use.”

PK noted during the podcast that he’s been sober for nearly a year, and was “shocked” when he heard his wife describe him as a “full-blown alcoholic.”

“I was shocked, disappointed and upset by what Dorit said,” he said. “I mean, first of all, you know, I’m very proud and public about my sobriety. And I’m 12 months (sober) in two weeks.”

“I think sobriety allows me to breathe,” he added. “My public sharing of my sobriety was about recovery. It was meant to inspire others… It doesn’t matter how dark, you can recover. You can’t do it alone. You need people. It’s very difficult.” An emotional and difficult journey, truly the hardest journey I have ever been on.”

While Dorit has had plenty to say about her husband’s alcoholism, she’s had drunken binges herself, one of which was caught on camera during the filming of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

During a dinner party in Kyle RichardsAt home in 2017, a drunken Dorit became sloppy and loud after drinking one too many cocktails.

Camille Grammer was introducing her new boyfriend to the cast for the first time at dinner when Dorit shouted across the table, “Camille! You’re stupid!” PK was sitting next to Dorit and calmly scolded her for her outburst.

As previously reported ExplosionKemsley called her co-star, Grammer, the C-word for the second time on a recent episode of “RHOBH.”

During the episode titled “High Horses, Low Knocks,” Kemsley told Grammer that she was “absolutely distraught” after Grammer called Dorit out for not having any sympathy when her house burned down in Malibu.

“You called me a fucking c-nt,” Grammer replied, and Kemsley quickly corrected him, saying, “I called you a stupid c-nt, not a fucking c-nt.”

PK He was arrested for DUI in 2021. According to the peoplethe 57-year-old was arrested after blowing .081 during a breathalyzer test.

Kemsley’s lawyer, Alan Jackson, claimed his client had only had a glass of wine in a statement confirming the arrest.

“PK was stopped and cited on November 23 on suspicion of driving under the influence,” Jackson said. “While with a co-worker, PK had a glass of wine with dinner. After a traffic stop, it was determined that he may have been close to the legal limit. He regrets that he did not take alternative transportation home that evening. PK takes issue with these allegations seriously and is fully cooperating with the authorities.”
