Donald Trump has ordered a campaign on Wilmerhale, a law firm with relations with the public prosecutor who has achieved the allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, as it broadens an attack on American legal groups.

On Thursday, the President directed government agencies to end the contracts with Wilmerhale, suspend their security permits and limit the arrival of their employees to federal buildings.

Trump said that the company – as former private lawyer Robert Muller was a partner – “another law firm abandoned the highest ideals of the profession and insulted them free to participate in activities that undermine justice and the interests of the United States.”

This step represents the latest attack on a large law firm, as the president increases a campaign against the imagined enemies, which leads to a stampede by legal groups to develop emergency plans if they are targeted.

Mueleler, the former FBI director who worked in the company before his appointment in 2017 to lead a federal investigation into the allegations of collusion between Russia and Trump’s first presidential campaign. He retired from the company in 2021.

Muller’s investigation eventually found no evidence of collusion, but was described as a “charming chase” by the president, who claimed to be politicized.

“Muller investigates the government’s weapon,” Trump wrote on Thursday.

Wilmerhale was accused of “Bonus” of Muller and his partners “by welcoming them in the company after they enjoyed the authority of the federal government to lead one of the most partisan investigations in American history.

Welterahal said he was aware of “illegal matter” and is looking to “follow up on all appropriate treatments.”

“Our company has a long -term tradition in representing a wide range of customers, including matters against the departments of both parties,” he said in a statement.

The request reflects similar directives targeting companies including Paul Weiss and Birkins Koy and one narrower against Covengtton Burling in recent weeks.
