In the film, a desperate Sparkle takes a cell-replicating substance that temporarily creates a younger, better-looking version of her who tries to take control of her life (played by Margaret Qualley).

“Oh, wow! I wasn’t really expecting it,” Moore said of her historic win. “I’m just in shock right now. I’ve been doing this for a long time, almost over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor. “I am humbled and grateful.”

Moore added that thirty years ago, a producer told her she was just a “popcorn” actress, and that although she could be successful in the industry and make a lot of money, she would never be recognized.
