Croatian authorities arrested an Austrian national on suspicion of trying to smuggle a body, after stopping him at a border crossing with a dead woman sitting in the passenger seat of his car, police said Tuesday.

Police told AFP in a statement that the 65-year-old man was stopped at the Gonja border crossing with Bosnia in late November after he presented travel documents for himself and another passenger.
